After an overnight stay in Cancun we decided to take an overnight trip to Isla Majures as we had heard wonderful things. So we made our way to the port and purchased return tickets for the ferry to Isla Majures from Puerto Juarez for $17u.s (Be sure
not to buy tickets from people off the streets as it will always cost
you more).
After a quick
20 minute ferry across to Isla Majures we make our way to "hostel Po
cna" which is a 5 minute walk from the port. Hostel Po
cna is just a place to rest your head, there are minimal amenities, no a/c, a bed to put your head
down and heaps of hammocks on the beach to lay back and relax at the end of the
night. Put it this way "you get what you pay for".

Playa Norte |
As
soon as we reached Hostel Poc na we dropped our bags and headed straight for the beach as Isla Majures was about sunny 30+ degrees. About 5 minutes away is a beach called "Playa Norte” which has to be one of the most picturesque beachs i've seen in my life and to cap it off there were local people selling fresh coconut milk on the beach.

Golf Cart for a couple of hours |
After a few
hours on the beach and the redness starting to show on all of our bodies we make our way into town and hire a golf cart . The island is some 7 kilometres long and 650 metres wide with a town population of approximately 12,000 people. For two hours we drove north, south, east & west for $300 pesos and allowed us to see all of the island at a
short glimpse.

Street Tacos :) |
As the sun starts to set, the town totally transforms with food stands appearing in anticipation for dinner. As we only visited Isla Majures overnight , I would recommend visiting or doing the following:
Playa Norte (Beach) for it's pristine beach
Hire a golf Cart to see the Island
Sit back, relax, soak up the surroundings and enjoy some street food
